Amoeba Records Just Got Approved to Sell Weed

Weed + records = bliss.

Soon you’ll be able to shop for records and weed at Berkeley’s Amoeba Records location. The landmark music store was just granted a license by the Berkeley City Council to dispense medical cannabis from its Telegraph Avenue store. Amoeba will call the weed section of the store BC3, for Berkeley Compassionate Care Collective, and it’s expected to take over the structure's jazz room.

Still, it could take many months before you’re actually buying nugs and records in the same store. Management still needs to get approvals from Berkeley’s Department of Planning and Development to convert the space.

Still, a big win for music and weed lovers. So, pretty much for everyone.
