Chill/No-Chill: Budweiser's 'America' Beer

A can of Budweiser beer is a commercial product that represents the notion of Americana on a level with the Campbell's Soup can, the Oscar Mayer Wiener, and the Golden Arches. A can of ice-cold Bud fits in perfectly with the bunch.

Tapping into this brand-nation wavelength, the marketers at Anheuser-Busch have renamed Budweiser "America" for the summer.  The company ditched its legacy Budweiser branding, and appropriated the nation's name and parts of the national anthem.

Is drinking a beer called America while watching fireworks on the Fourth of Joo-Ly a chill, American dream come true? Or is Budweiser's America literally corporate America shoving itself down the country's collective throat?
