Chill No Chill: Meta Performance Art

In 2010, artist Marina Abramović sat silent and motionless, in a chair, across from the rotating gaze of different audience members for 736 hours. She called the act, which was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, "The Artist Is Present."

In early 2016, Dr. Lisa Levy––a psychologist who has decided to take up performance art––will present: “The Artist Is Humbly Present," by sitting unclothed on a toilet for the same amount of time in a self-described challenge to the pretentiousness of the art world.

Are Levy and Abramović true artists with a chill vision? Or are these esoteric performances really just examples of no-chill, meta art that sucks?
