How The United States Will Celebrate Cannabis on 4/20

The dopest and most heady events going down in the red, white, and blue on 4/20.

On April 20, AKA 4/20, AKA la dia de la mota, you or someone you know (or maybe even possibly your mom), is likely getting stoned as heck. On 4/20, people get down on weed in all sorts of ways, with THC entering the bloodstream via your lungs, your digestive system per edibles (mmmm), or perhaps even your butt. For the most part, with the exception of a prude-ass attorney general (or possibly even your mom), nobody is going to judge you for your cannabis consumption. Indeed, getting lit is usually more fun when you’re surrounded by like-minded imbibers of the chronic. As such, keep scrolling for a KINDLAND-curated list of some of the dopest 4/20 parties popping off around the country, and other events where you’ll be encouraged to pipe it up.

Four Two Zero: A Celebration of Cannabis Culture | Los Angeles, California

Los Angeles is arguably the weed world’s West Coast hub. The myriad of cannabis brands in and around LA is so large in fact, it can be difficult to quantify. Though you’ll likely meet many of the faces behind the LA weed scene at the Nexus Social Lounge. This DTLA venue regularly hosts marijuana-centric events, concerts and even has some old school arcade games to get down on after you’ve gotten down. On Thursday, Nexus lounge is hosting a celebration of cannabis culture, with performances from A$AP Low, Chief Keef (pending he doesn’t get locked up again), and a few more stoned rappers.

First Annual Secret Smoke-Out | Temecula, California

Smoke out on some dank nugs under the California sun with some presumably chill peeps. The first annual “Secret Smoke-Out”––which we guess isn’t technically a secret anymore––will feature all of the 4/20 faves: Glass art, free weed, advocacy tents, free weed, live music, free weed.

4/20: A Space Odyssey | Miami, Florida

Though we’re hesitant to describe any Miami event that isn’t being emceed by Pitbull as a party, “4/20: A Space Odyssey,” hosted by Soundbite magazine, sounds like it will be pretty tight. Catch music from trippy MIA-based bands, Folktale San Pedro, and Pavlov’s Bell.

Sorry We’re Dabbing Party | Phoenix, Arizona

According to the Phoenix New Times, the “Sorry We’re Dabbing Party,” which is being put on by the Grand Canyon State-based clothing label of the same unapologetic name, will be “the baddest 4/20 party in town.” One might reasonably assume that there will be dabs at this event, and also musical performances from Wyves, Ghetto Cowgirl, and Chalmers Green.
