Twenty After: Tala Madani, 'Dress Codes'
Clothes make the human.
Tehran-born, Los Angeles-based painter Tala Madani has a lot of what the rest of us could use some of—a worldview that incorporates subtle inversions to illustrate the absurdity of routinely accepted structures.
In other words, the people of our world are sort of nuts in what they take for granted in expected human perceptions and behavior. More proof of the power of altered perspective was displayed throughout Madani's Smiley Has No Nose exhibit at the David Kordansky Gallery in the summer of 2015.
