KINDLAND Premiere: 'Carpe Diem' by Blissing Room

Blissing Room’s “Carpe Diem” is a love song, and an ode to the Arizona desert, where the music project was founded. Directed by Jon Jenkins, and styled by Marina Fini, with still photography by KINDLAND editor Ben Parker Karris, the video was filmed in the spring of 2016.

The first location was a flat expanse of sand and rocks, a few hundred yards from the road, at the edge of the desert in Indio, California. To bring the other-worldly fever dream to life, the "Carpe Diem" team rented an ice cream truck. The truck was driven out to the desert and, under the nearly 100-degree sun, wrapped by Fini in holographic adhesive vinyl. The rest of the video was shot in Phoenix, Arizona—at the Ice House, an art space converted from an ice-manufacturing and storage facility.
