These Midcentury Wood Cars Capture the American ’60s

You might need a road trip soon.

Brooklyn-based Candylab Toys makes the coolest of ‘60s revival car toys. The play vehicles are simple and inspired, and every toy car, truck, or trailer will make you want to hit the road and experience the great outdoors. And these toys will make you forget all the other stupid, modern, plastic, trashy toys that flood kids’ toy boxes these days.

The Candylab toymakers say they "love vintage cars, midcentury design, and we distill the glamorous American '60s into awesome contemporary wood toy designs.” The business was formed and fully-funded on Kickstarter.

If you don’t buy a toy car for a kid, consider one for yourself, or even your parents. Each one is like a sculpted artifact in itself, and all are shelf-worthy.
